Aprender jugando: Descubriendo las formas con LEGO en Hello Academy

 

En Hello Academy creemos que los niños aprenden mejor cuando están en movimiento, curiosos y comprometidos con lo que hacen. Por eso, decidimos llevar un concepto que puede parecer abstracto para los más pequeños —las formas geométricas— al terreno del juego concreto y creativo: el mundo LEGO.

Durante las últimas semanas, nuestras alumnas de entre 3 y 7 años exploraron triángulos, cuadrados, rectángulos y círculos utilizando piezas de LEGO en inglés. La propuesta fue sencilla pero poderosa: construir, observar, nombrar y describir. En este proceso, el lenguaje se activó de manera natural. Escuchamos frases como: “Look! A triangle!”, “It’s a big square!”, “I made a circle with blue blocks!”.

Este tipo de actividades integran el enfoque del Aprendizaje Basado en el Juego con el aprendizaje de inglés como segunda lengua. Cada forma construida no solo representa un concepto matemático, sino también una oportunidad para nombrar, repetir y apropiarse del idioma en contexto.

El uso de LEGO en el aula va mucho más allá del entretenimiento. Estimula la motricidad fina, la creatividad, el pensamiento espacial, la colaboración y, en nuestro caso, la adquisición natural del inglés.
